TUE Feb 27 |  6:00pm – 7:30pm | $8.00

Learn more about the recently unveiled portraits of the Obamas and a long history of official, and not so official, images of those who have led the nation. We will explore works that range from the portraits of George Washington by Gilbert Stuart to Kehinde Wiley’s new image of Barack Obama. We will also compare images of First Ladies from George Catlin’s painting of Dolly Madison to Amy Sherald’s portrait of Michelle Obama. Serious and witty, regal and absurd…we will look at examples across the spectrum.
