Join Vagina Warriors as they present an intimate performance inspired by Ntozke Shange’s For Colored Girls who Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf. This group of women artists and activists produced Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues in summer of 2018 and have expanded their ranks to present this powerful work about the experience of women of color in America. This Yellow House performance will be intimate as it moves from gallery to gallery to present the stories of loss and joy, tragedy and triumph. There is no doubt that this performance will benefit from the residual energy left in Yellow House by Erin Kendrick’s recent exhibition that was also inspired by Shange’s work and the desire to create space for for black women to speak to black women and for all women to see each other.
Doors open at 5pm with the performance starting at 6pm. Refreshments will be served. This performance is for womxn only and space is limited due to the intimacy of the space. An additional performance will take place in March at American Beach.
Tickets are 25.00 ( please answer all questions on page 2).
