This collaboration between Bards & Brews and Yellow House will provide a gracious space as we stand together against all oppressive legislation, from renewed Jim Crow laws aimed to take black votes to laws recently implemented in Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio that would criminalize health events like miscarriages and personal medical decisions. Let this reading be catharsis, an intentional gathering of folks with wombs and those who care about them – let this reading bring us together instead of apart – let this reading be a hammer – let this reading be our energy to fight the next round.

There are going to be highlighted readers of power, as well as open mic time.

Doors will open at 7:30pm. It is a good time to check out ‘a simple show’ at Yellow House.

The event is free, but we are encouraging donations to contribute to two organizations. Hope McMath will also be selling selected works from her #100DaysofHope project, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the following organizations.

* The Yellowhammer Fund, which provides funding for anyone seeking care at one of Alabama’s three abortion clinics and helps with other barriers to access.

*Coalition for Consent, located here in Jacksonville, that centers the experiences and needs of poor, queer/gender role non conforming, black and other oppressed nationalities in their advocacy work and are taking a lead in demanding body autonomy legislation in our community.
